Being the geeky tourists that we are, we jumped on the opportunity to see the Much Music Video Awards live! Hurray for Canadian TV!

The adventure began in the afternoon when we watched a few of the bands set up and practice and the VJs run their lines – not gonna lie, it took some of the magic away from production watching how planned out everything is, but SO cool to get up-close, live performances!

A few highlights:

1. Carolyn meeting Sean, the runner-up from the VJ search. A dream come true really – I told him I voted for him and then ran out of Second Cup to tell John– such a nerd.

2. John using his sharp wits to get us across the red carpet into a special section right next to the entrance to Much and across from the paparazzi/ reporters. Seriously, we were within touching distance to so many stars! Aside from having to constantly protect ourselves from crazy, star-obsessed teenage girls, it was a huge success!

Overall, it was a great afternoon – nothing quite like spending a day stalking celebrities and getting squashed through hordes of Toronto fans!

This weekend is WENA PM --> WENA Presidents Meeting, where the president of AIESEC in Western Europe and North American meet to talk about ACTIVATING WENA --> WENA intiatives, and how to take this national, and take it local. :)

WENA is the GN -- Growth Network -- in which AIESEC Canada participates. All of the member of AIESEC are grouped into growth networks, so they can leverage their relatively similar operating environment/realities to create some concentrated and effective AIESEC synergy.

Canada cannot be there to show its WENA spirit, or learn from and support these these amazing individuals and their respective AIESEC home lands this year. BUGGER. But we are committing to make sure there is someone to represent at WENA PM 2007... hockey and maple syrup running this his/her veins. And this picture is a quick snapshot of our love for our rockstar star GN.

Lots of love from Canada to all of our WENA MCPs and to our current and incoming AI WENA Directors (equiv of RVPs but for all of Canada!!) -- Taco Bosman (yes the taco taco man from NLDC) and Mairi Juriska -- the Estonian who is going to lead WENA to new heights. :)
