Attention Movie Go-ers!

Shirley and I went to see a fantastic film last weekend...

PEACEFUL WARRIOR.

It's based on a book called The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. It was incredibly inspirational. You can find out if it's playing in your city on the following website: http://www.thepeacefulwarriormovie.com/

It's "Like Rocky for the Soul" - Straw Weisman (Associate Producer of "What the Bleep Do We Know")

The world certainly needs to make more movies like this so go see, support and spread the word!

A very inspired Carolyn

The MC goes on Vacation?

Cousins, originally uploaded by aiesecanada.

Last weekend I flew out to southern California to visit my family. Yes, the MC has family AND even goes on vacation. Crazy, really. :)

It was a bit of a family reunion. There were 4 full branches of my family there, mostly in from Taiwan and NYC. This amounted to 17 of us... the youngest being the ages of 7, 8, 9, and 10. To call it a gong show would definitely be an understatement... my Cali house was at fullll capacity.

Funny AIESEC-esque highlights...
1) For the first time, I had to answer the question, "so what is AIESEC".... IN CHINESE! My relatives from Taiwan don't understand English well, so... 'twas rough, but they get it now! :)
2) My cousins found my iPod. Yikes. STRANGEST THING: Of the 2000+ songs, Lucas (the one in the center), who can't read English, found the FISH SONG (Dragostea din tea) and managed to get all of my cousins dancing around singing "maya heeee maya hooooo maya heeeee maya haahaaa!" and "noma noma yay, noma noma noma noma yay." Note: they did this for A FULL DAY. What are the odds?

Smiling and tanned from San Diego sun,

-Shirley

Stampede....T.O. Style!

Stampede....T.O. Style!, originally uploaded by aiesecanada.

In great Calgarian spirit, Harshitha and Messalina decided to cook a Stampede Breakfast for the team yesterday. MMM! We pumped up the country tunes, danced-a-diddy, and chowed down on pancakes and bacon. Thank you ladies!!!

Hot Power Flow Yoga

tula, originally uploaded by aiesecanada.

Today Mess, Shirley, Juan and I went to yoga at Tula yoga, on the first floor of our office building. People always tell you that yoga is a workout - but man, you don't really know it till you try it!

Hot power flow is done in a heated room, so your muscles warm up faster, but you sweat 10 times more! We all had pools of sweat dripping all over our bodies (no, I'm not trying to gross you out), but it really is such great exercise for your body. And the best part is, your second class is free!

So the deal is that if I go three times a week for two consecutive weeks, I can buy a new yoga mat :)

The Adventures of John and Jean-Nic. Episode #1.

6 beers: $25
3 hours of pool: $30
Getting beaten every single time: priceless.

Yes, this pretty much sums up my evening of playing pool with Jean-Nic :p This guy is a pro!!! The second that I saw him putting together his own pool cue, I knew that I was in trouble. I thought maybe by ordering more beers that I would be able to toss him off his game a little bit, but boy was I wrong! He's invincible!

So....sensai....thank you for the lesson in Pool 101.

Happy Birthday Canada!

Canada People Spelling, originally uploaded by aiesecanada.

In true MC tradition, last Friday the team rented some cars, drove 5 hours to head the annual Canada Day reception in Ottawa! Needless to say it was a blast - soccer game, BBQ, MC initiation, fire works, and of couse, a valiant demonstration of our Canada pride by creating a human "CANADA" sign. On a side note, while we were spelling the word and waiting for the random person we asked to take our picture, we were the main attraction for at least a good five minutes with other random people taking pictures of us...interesting...

A big thank you goes out to Ottawa and Carleton for pulling off an amazing weekend - and special thanks to Kamala for putting up with us in her house!

Panorama 51st floor

Panorama 51st floor, originally uploaded by aiesecanada.

You know how we like our Princess Tai...

It was her birthday last friday, so we decided we would spen our whole economies to get a few drinks at the Panorama, 51st floor, where we can see that splendid view of T Dot and its famous CN Tower shining in the sunset.

What a Nice evening

J Nizzle (don't ever call me like that)
